BackPiece Tattoo WIP2

Here's what the design currently looks like as of a few days ago. Started inking the Feng Huang's head and feathers!!!! Oh god, it'll be so tedious...

I went ahead and took this around to a few tattoo shops that weren't exactly local, but I'd heard good things about them. There's a guy in the Pasadena shop who was working on some other guy, he really liked the design. I have to swing by the shop and give my "artiste" a copy of Photoshop 7 because I told him I would. Such an awesome guy!!

Em, so anyway, the guy who liked the design, his name is Max, and he said if I could teach him a few tricks on Photoshop (Like how to colour basic linearts and shade em and all that) he'd redraw this design for me, or at least take a good look at it and make a few changes for me. It usually costs $50 to have them do just that and he offered to do it for free!! Love for Max! So I think we might hang out tomorrow nigt if I finish my homework and he isn't too swamped with tattoos and the like.

Hogawd, I'm so excited. The guys at the shop (Rick, Mark, Max and Andrew) guesstimated that my design would indeed be about $600-$1.000 depending on the amount of detail and colour and shading and all that. It'd start off with the first sitting being the lines ($500-ish) then I'd go back for $100 sittings for shading and colour. I think maybe...5-6 sittings total, yeah? But I so wanna get it done this year...


So I have some serious bones to save up for, which means I need to get a job again. I have about $120 in the burg here at home which I'm not touching for the life of me. I want to save up enough for the initial lines for when Colin comes out because I told him I wanted him there for this tattoo! Oh yeah, which reminds me, he got his tattoo today and it looks freaking amazing.

Annnnd, critiques on this are still deffinitely welcomed to no end. No, I'm not changing the plumage numbers on Feng Huang. No I'm not changing the number of toes the dragon has. Yes the scales will be drawn better in the final version. Anything else, and I'm all ears and eyes!!
